The Stapferhaus in Lenzburg is known beyond the Swiss frontiers for its Exhibitions thematising sociopolitical topics.

For the Heimat (homeland) Exhibition, opened in 2017, I realised a series of video installations, a 360° dome projection, among others. It acts as an opener to the exhibition. Visitors lie down in groups inside a round cupola and experience an immersive journey slowly  closing in on the subject matters of belonging and identity.

Loosely the video conveys a history of creation: starting with a primordial soup, the universe, stars and planets come into existence, followed by life and the act of procreation. From a cluster of cells emerges an embryonic individual. As it grows, it develops senses and perception, eventually to be born into the world, where it makes contact with nature, and, finally, with human culture and history.

With the HEIMAT exhibition the Stapferhaus Team has succeeded to even surpass the quality of their former excellent exhibitions on the topics of DECIDING and MONEY. Definitely worth a visit.

The exhibition is convinicing both with regard to content and the multifaceted representation of the subject matter as well as the concetptual approach. A central theme unifies the exhibition, making it exciting and attractive from beginning to end.
