Rage of Life — Georg Lendorff

Vlaamse Opera – Rage of Life

Elena Kats-Chernin

Contemporary opera for a young audience by Igor Bauersima and Elena Kats-Chernin. Debut in Antwerp 24 April 2010 followed up by guest performances in Ghent, Rotterdam and Stuttgart.

"Rage of Life" is based on Bauersimas hit play "Norway Today". It renders the narration of young Leif on his quest for truth and recognition. With his uncompromising character he faces rejection and mounting violence, which he attempts to escape with a bold leap.

At the centre we see a white partition that can be used as a projection surface for the stylish ambience of his parent's apartment, an ugly industrial wasteland or the aseptic hallways of a mental hospital. The video projections by Georg Lendorff are not only used for illustration but also in order to extend space.
