Conception and realisation of the video projections for the opening celebration of the Gotthard base tunnel, the longest railway tunnel in the world, connecting northern and southern Europe through the Alps, in the summer of 2016.

Die Show mit rund 600 Mitwirkenden fand gleichzeitig im Tessin und am Nordportal in Erstfeld statt. Im Norden wurde eine Montagehalle mit Tribünen für 1000 Gäste eingerichtet. Die grossformatige Videoinstallation war dabei ein zentrales Ausstattungselement.

Die dreiteilige Aufführung thematisierte mit "Sacre del Gottardo" den historischen Kampf des Menschen gegen die Natur, die Gefahren welche für den Menschen in der Natur lauern und den Mühsal, welche die Menschen auf sich nehmen, um sich die Umwelt anzueignen. Der zweite Teil lässt die archaische Sagen- und Mythenwelt aufleben, welche typisch für Innerschweiz ist. Im abschliessenden dritten Teil treffen der Süden und der Norden aufeinander und das Ereignis wird ausgelassen gefeiert.

Die Veranstaltung wurde europaweit am Fernsehen übertragen und von rund 80'000 Gästen besucht.

Incorporating more than 600 collaborators, the show was performed sumultaneosly at the southern end of the tunnel in Ticino and at the northern entry in Erstfeld. There an assembly hall was equiped with grandstands capable of accommodating 1000 guests. The large-sized video installation served as a key visual element of the show.

Divided into three acts, the performance titled "Sacre del Gottardo" broached the historical struggle of man against nature, the dangers it holds for humans, and the hardships people encumber themselves with in order to subjugate nature. The second act revives the archaic realm of myths and legends typical of central Switzerland. In the third and final act, the South and the North meet, and the occassion is merrily celebrated.

The event was televised throughout Europe and visited by some 80'000 guests.
